Saw this ancient building in the harbor of Astoria. Watercolor was the only way to go with it ( Sorry about the faded spot in the middle -just my poor photo skills with my table lamp).
Another pastel inspired by Sarah Mortimore's photos of her home in the Moscow woods on a snowy late afternoon. I am a sucker for the shadows, colors, and textures.
We had an amazingly brilliant sunset a few weeks ago and Mike Church was able to get a great shot of it striking our Moscow Mountains. A pastel was needed, I felt. (Sorry about the blurry spot-my camera did that.)
My new nephew-in-law (?), David, married my sweet niece, Attie. He's from a farming background and sent me a photo of his favorite combine, wondering if I could paint it for him. It was quite fun to do in pastels. Anyway, they seemed to like it.
