Sun On Snow

When I first saw this image in Sarah Mortimore's photo, I was struck by its mood. It's calm, yet the light is rather dramatic. I've painted (pastel) this as my mother crosses over to her real home, and I have somewhat the same feeling - calm in the midst of glorious light and shadows. "This is the morning!"

Yes, another alley in Moscow. What can I say? They fascinate me with their variety of colors, shapes, shadows and textures. And they don't get much press, so I'm not getting much competition for doing them! Thanks for looking!
