What can I say? Every time I visit Cannon Beach, I have to see Haystack Rock. And every time I see the rock, I want to paint it. I absolutely love the sea, the sea sky, the sand, and all the rocks. Call it a Cannon Beach obsession!
Stepping out of my comfort zone, I decided to try my hand at doing some animals. These sun-warmed horses grazing on the Palouse seemed to be worth a try in pastels.
While visiting Astoria with Julie and my sister Judy, I saw this lovely old fishing boat. It was sitting quietly among hundreds of barking sea lions. It deserved to be painted for its beauty amidst the noise!
